Jeff is the founder of Lucrum Consulting.  Jeff brings more than a decade of accounting and financial experience and expertise to his clients.  Following his graduation from Guilford College with a degree in accounting, Jeff started his career with the tax department at the CPA firm Pesta Finnie & Associates.   In 2004, he completed a Masters of Accounting from UNC-Charlotte, and in 2005 was named Chief Financial Officer of Mulvaney Properties and The Altura Group, LTD.  When he started Lucrum in 2009, Jeff leveraged this experience to serve other land development and construction clients.

Jeff’s industry expertise includes:  homebuilders, construction subcontractors, professional service firms, restaurants, commercial real estate developers, and start-ups.

A Charlotte resident since 1984, Jeff is an Eagle Scout and remains active in Scouting. He also serves on the Finance Committee of the Harris YMCA.  A new father of son Trent, he and his wife Taylor are an active outdoor family.  Jeff enjoys his morning workouts at the Y, shooting, hunting and fishing, and usually has more home improvement projects in process than he can handle.

Kurt’s passion is working with entrepreneurs and helping small businesses get stronger and more efficient, which is what brought him to Lucrum. Kurt shares 25 years of accounting and financial management experience with the Lucrum team and our clients, benefitting from a diverse background of consulting, manufacturing, distribution, energy and public accounting companies. His most recent roles included consulting for a national accounting firm, CFO of a regional distribution business, and Corporate Controller of a national retail chain.

Kurt is a native Hoosier. After graduating from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, he moved south, and has spent the past 20 years in Charlotte. He loves to travel and has spent considerable time overseas, and has almost become fluent in Spanish. Kurt also loves to be outside, and is an avid golfer, hiker, camper and runner. He has spent many hours traversing trails in a National Park, sleeping in a tent in a local state park, and running the trails at Colonel Francis Beatty Park in Charlotte. His dream is to one day hike the Appalachian Trail.

Gregg Watkins began his business career with a degree in Financial Management from Clemson University and worked in retail, manufacturing and high technology environments before starting his own QuickBooks consulting company in 2006.

Gregg joined Lucrum Consulting, Inc.  in early 2013 and as a highly skilled Quick Books trainer, he has an uncommon ability to translate “accounting-speak” into a language business owners can understand. He also specializes in moving business owners from “shoe box” accounting to highly accurate and precise “data at your fingertips” bookkeeping the Lucrum way.

Gregg and his wife Anne have three teenage children and have lived in Charlotte for more than 25 years. He is active in his church and enjoys working out to stay in shape.

Trent is the newest and probably the most popular member of the Lucrum team. He has no accounting skills or experience, demands a nap from 12-3 each day, gets paid in M&M’s and is in charge of employee morale whenever he decides to visit the office. Work stops but everyone has a smile!
